They are Reduced Sized MultiMedia Cards which can operate on 2 different voltages i.e. the normal 3.3 as well as from 1.8 to 3.3 V. These cards are compatible with all devices featuring an MMC slot as they can be used with an MMC adaptor. They have a high storage capacity and a high shock rating minimising the chances of being damaged if dropped. Many of the new mobile phones ( Nokia’s ) take this form on card.
